“We’ve done weddings for everything from weddings for kids to weddings for grown-ups.
We do a lot of weddings for families and couples,” said Jill Dunne, a wedding planner in Calgary.
“I’m so proud to be able to do weddings for weddings for both adults and children.”
Dunne said her firm, Dunn Wedding Design , was formed in 2006 and was established on the premise that weddings are meant to be special and meaningful for the guests, who are often younger and more inexperienced.
“We know the importance of weddings being well designed, and that’s what we strive to do,” Dunne explained.
A wedding planner’s goal is to create a wedding that both creates a sense of belonging, and for the attendees to feel like they have their wedding, said Dunne.
She said it is important to create an event that will be attended by people who are comfortable with the traditional wedding ceremonies of the West, and are interested in incorporating the arts and traditions into the ceremony.
“A lot of couples are looking for something that’s a little more informal and less formal, which is what we do,” said Dunnes husband, Tom Dunn.
The Dunn Wedding Designer wedding reception is designed to be casual, and a mix of traditional elements and modern design elements.
The reception includes a bar, a wine bar, and bar snacks.
Guests will have a chance to sample various cocktail concoctions, and will be invited to join in on the fun.
“It’s a fun atmosphere, with a lot more people and a lot less alcohol,” said Dunn, adding the guests are more likely to be interested in the music.
Dunne believes the Dunn Wedding design studio is a great place to start when it comes to creating a wedding for couples.
“They’ve done many weddings for couples and families and we’re here to help you get your wedding right,” said Tom Dunn, who added that he and Jill Dunnes are looking forward to collaborating on wedding-related projects for the future.
